Paleosuchus palpebrosus. The dwarf caiman is part of the alligator family and can be found in the rivers of northern and central South America. They are the smallest members of the crocodilian order, ranging from 3 to 4 feet long when fully grown. Dwarf caimans mainly feed on fish, amphibians, and invertebrates. They are also sometimes kept as pets due to their smaller size.
