Teaching conservation, awareness and planetary preservation by inspiring students to understand the natural balance has never been more important. Protecting our planet is in the hands of our upcoming generations and it\u2019s our responsibility for today\u2019s youth to become involved in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earth Day is April 22nd<\/sup>, and one of the easiest ways to celebrate is through fun and educational activities that teach children ways to protect planet Earth. At Nature Watch<\/a>, we pride ourselves on offering a selection of educational crafts, kits, and books that do just that! Continue reading to learn some of our Earth Day activities for kids:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I. Water Awareness\n& Conservation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Teaching the basics of water awareness to younger children starts with foundational groundwork (no pun intended) of the actual water cycle. A Water Wheel Activity Kit<\/a> offers elementary concepts and engaging visuals that demonstrate the process.  Books are also good for explaining the importance of water to children. The Save Water Book<\/a> is an ideal introduction to water conservation, aimed at students in grades 3-7. II. Recycling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While recycling has become a mainstay in society, this wasn\u2019t always the case. Through effective teaching, starting at a young age we\u2019ve been able to remove the stigma of the recycling process and transition it to become part of our daily activities. However, this requires continuous reinforcement and encouragement in our youth. Nature Watch recommends the Eco-Bag Activity Craft Kit<\/a> which encourages the “Three Rs” – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!  Plus, each child gets their own unique and personalized recycled bag to use themselves.  Another great way to witness recycling in action is through the Recycling Display<\/a> \u2013 an at-a-glance overview of what can, and should, be recycled. The world may still mostly run on fossil fuels, but that’s quickly changing. Thanks in large part to education, and the next generation\u2019s interest in protecting our planet.
